Last weekend I moved into a new apartment that overlooks a beautiful courtyard. Outside of my old apartment, I had limited photo taking space, leaving me to take photos on a brick wall right outside my door. Now, I get to explore this gorgeous courtyard and try out new photo taking locations! And I must say, as a fashion blogger, you need to be just a leeeetle bit shameless during this trial and error period, as people are walking by and watching you snap photos of yourself – especially because the courtyard was rather busy! But regardless, it was really fun and there were some great locations. Here are the results:

This outfit is titled “Love Potion No. 9.” Why? Just check the shirt! (and that afro though… gotta love it) Can’t wait to keep playing around with the area!

Also, today marks the official 20 day countdown to my birthday! 🙂

I did a post not too long ago about tiered baby doll dresses. I found this one at Marshall’s for $16! Gotta love when I find great deals. Covered with a cream crochet vest and ankle wrap sandals – today’s outfit of the day is a remix of some items you’ve seen on my blog before.  image1 image5 image3 image7 image8 image10 image11Dress – Marshalls | Sandals – H&M | Vest – Burlington Coat Factory | Necklace – Plato’s Closet

If I were to define my style, I would consider it to be “edgy meets girly.”

I wore this outfit to an interview recently and realized it perfectly defines my style. The hard edge of the black and studs is balanced nicely with the girly floral skirt.

For the final day of Shoespiration Week, I reached out to a friend for a pair of shoes that inspired her. She gave me a pair of shoes she had recently purchased from Nine West called the Mexicali Gladiator Sandal.

These sandals inspired me to create two different outfits that are white, whimsical and floral!

The outfit on the left is easy and breezy! A white tiered dress from New Look covered with a floral kimono from Revolve. Accessorized with a long turquoise necklace from Ruche and a lilac fold clutch from Pixie Market.

The right outfit is for the preppy girl with a little edge. The pair of floral shorts from Zara are the statement piece of this outfit. Paired with a white tiered shirt also from Zara with lace detailing at the top. Of course accessorized with a double necklace from Express – one of my favorite fashion items – and an easy gray crossbody bag from Ruche.

Today’s shoe inspiration goes to the CADAUDDA’s from ALDO.

CADAUDDA

The left is a classic outfit, starting with a little black razorback dress from MANGO. The red and teal bauble necklace from Francesca’s accentuates the color patterns in the shoe. Paired with a red John Lewis bag to really get that pop of color. This outfit dresses the shoe up, which makes it a perfect contender for an evening date.

The right outfit gives the floral shoe a bit more edge. Paired with a striped graphic tee from MANGO and a red mini skirt from Forever 21. Keeping with the black and white pattern also present in the shoe, it is accessorized with a striped clutch from Lord and Taylor and a black and white woven necklace from Forever 21. Perfect for a day on the town or lunch with the girls.

$100 challenge, blazer, canvas sneakers, Fashion, floral, H&M, outfit, shorts

For the rest of this week, I have decided to try something new! Each day I will create an entire outfit from just one store – today’s store being H&M. The entire outfit must be $100 or less. Since this is my first attempt, I just barely made the mark! I will display the items in my usual style board format and complete the post by adding up the total cost! Here we go….

hmstyleboard

This outfit was inspired by my “Floral Meets Business” post from last week, pairing floral shorts with a blazer and canvas sneakers. All of the items pictured here are from H&M!

Ruffled Shirt – $17.95

Floral Shorts – $17.95

Long Necklace – $7.95

Blazer– $24.95

Shoulder Bag– $17.95

Canvas Sneakers – $12.95

Grand Total: $99.70

With a grand total of $99.70 before tax, I just BARELY made the mark. But tomorrow we’ll try again with a new store!

Think you can master the $100 challenge for H&M? Try it out, email me at ohlivyourstyle@gmail.com and I will feature you on my blog 🙂

IMG_20140524_111018I’ve been sharing mainly style boards lately, so I thought I’d throw in a photo of my outfit from this past weekend. The floral romper I actually got on sale at JcPenny for $4! Granted it was a size large, it worked for the romper as the style is ‘baggy’ anyway. Sometimes I buy things a few sizes larger than my usual size because I like the baggy look. I paired it with a black blazer from Aeropostale that was on sale for $5. (Yep, I’m a serious bargain shopper!) The layered necklaces are both from Plato’s closet and the canvas black sneakers from Target. In total, the outfit probably cost me all of $20. The most expensive thing is the Burberry sunglasses I’m wearing that my wonderful mother bought me for graduation!! They are probably the most expensive item I own in my entire wardrobe – but they are super freakin’ wonderful and I love them! Hope you enjoy this “Floral Meets Business” Look ! 🙂

Until Tomorrow –

Liv
