While I am usually more of a ‘shop and see what you can find’ kind of girl, it’s not uncommon for me to compile a wish list of items I’m keeping a look out for. This Wednesday, I’ve decided to share with you what’s on my wish list for the month of July! Here are the 8 items I’ve been longing to purchase.
1. Mules – ALDO
2. Tie Dye Maxi – House of Fraser
3. Chambray Shirt – Lord & Taylor
4. Rouge Lipstick – Sephora
5. White Lace Kimono – New Look
6. Orange Nailpolish (like Betty Draper) – Essie
7. Asymmetrical Skort – TOPSHOP
8. Platform Sandals – Steve Madden
I found these purple boots in a shoe store in Santa Cruz, California last year. They are very unique and just scream for an outfit that is equally as edgy, so here it is! With the bauble earrings and layers, this outfit feels so 80’s to me!
Dress from Forever 21 | Covered with a body-con skirt from H&M | Coral wrap bracelet-watch from Kohl’s | Vintage bauble earrings | Purple boots by a brand called Penny Loves Kenny. They actually make some killer shoes and you can check them out here!
Wearing the body-con skirt over the dress gave the outfit a unique ‘fish tail’ look. The dress itself is a little long for me so this was an easy way to cinch it up!
Yesterday I got to attend my beautiful cousin Ariana’s wedding in Syracuse, NY. This was my first time attending a wedding as an “adult” and it was so much fun! It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect. I wish I had snapped some photos of the actual ceremony to share with you, but you’ll have to take my word for it – the whole day was wonderful. Congrats to her and her new husband Jose! I don’t get to see that side of my family very often, but when I do, it is always a good time. Here is a photo of me and all my siblings dressed up:
And here is a closer look at my wedding outfit of the day 🙂
Maxi Dress from… BJ’s! Yep. BJ’s Wholesale Club. They actually have some really cute clothes so take a peek if you’re ever in there!
Floral Kimono – Arden B | Long Necklace – Charlotte Russe | Bracelets – Guess & Alex and Ani | Wedges (seen in my previous post) – Burlington Coat Factory
American Eagle, burlington coat factory, charlotte russe, circle skirt, deals, Fashion, graphic tee, H&M, hearts, hipster, marshalls, moon, my style, olive green, ootd, outfit, sale, statement necklace, Style, what i wore
So I kinda have this ‘rule of thumb’ about getting ready. If I don’t have enough time to complete a perfect outfit with hair and makeup included, I have to sacrifice one or the other. For example, if I sleep in a little late before class and don’t have time to shower in the morning, I’ll wear a really cute outfit and just throw my hair up into some easy hairstyle. On the flip side, if I take too long doing my hair and makeup I’ll thrown on an easy outfit to balance out the time. Either way, the outfit or the hair/makeup has to be done!
In this particular look, I have on absolutely no makeup (the hipster glasses are a perfect trick to cover that) and my hair is just in an easy bun, but the outfit is intricate and works – so here is my ‘rule of thumb’ example 🙂
Moon graphic tee – Marshalls | Olive green button up – American Eagle (For $6 on the sale rack – check out their amazing sales this week for 40% off) | Heart patterned skirt – H&M | Statement Necklace – Charlotte Russe | Wedges – Burlington Coat Factory
In honor of American Eagle’s deal of an additional 40% off all sale items, I decided to do a round up of AE items I deem worthy of purchase! As you can see, I have a love for anything and everything olive green 🙂
Last year I had a small obsession with houndstooth. I bought houndstooth tights, spandex, skirts, blazers, jackets, etc. If it had houndstooth on it…. it quickly became mine. The other day I was wearing one of my favorite houndstooth pieces and figured I would share the outfit with you. Here’s the full fun & sassy look! Houndstooth skirt: Forever 21 | Crop-top with studs: Charlotte Russe |Blazer w/ polka dots: Aeropostale | Wedges: Burlington Coat Factory | Earrings: Forever 21 | Wrist to finger ring: Kohl’s
Stay tuned for where to get this look!!
Scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook, I recently came across a Harper’s Bazaar article from May titled “The New Summer Essentials”. Yesterday I got to catch up with one of my long lost best friends who is also the author of blog Essence of Natural. We ventured into downtown Rochester to a small coffee shop called Pour Coffee Parlor located on Somerton Street. The inside was very beautiful and classic, complete with a vase of flowers on each table. We sat and blogged for a while as I enjoyed an ice cold early grey tea. After we were finished, we went outside for a small photo shoot in the surrounding area! Here are some of the photos we took 🙂
