So recently I’ve been thinking quite the bit. As you may know if you are a frequent follower of my blog, I am currently on a two week trip to California.
I have to say this trip has been extremely relaxing for me.
So far I have gone shopping, spent time on the beach, dined at a few new restaurants, visited Cannery Row and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, just to name a few!
Since my sister and I have no car for transportation, we have been walking everywhere we want to go, which has been great exercise as well!
But what I’ve learned so far from this vacation, is how amazing it feels to spend some time with myself.
I can wake up, watch my current T.V. show, (which is New Girl – Love that show) go to the free breakfast buffet, head to gym, lay out by the pool, honestly do whatever I want.
I’m not on a schedule, I have no where to be, no one to see, and its just been great to unwind. I guess after all that is what a vacation is about!
But ladies and gents, what I want to tell you is to never underestimate the power of some alone time. Sometimes its just what you need to clear your head.
In work settings, friend settings, class settings, you are surrounded by so many people and sometimes its hard to get away.
But I tell you, being alone, even if only for a few moments, is a dire part of sanity.
Honestly, I think spending some time alone is something everyone should try to accomplish at least once a day.
Let’s face it: sometimes you just need time for yourself.
Bring along some of your favorite music, or a notebook to write down your thoughts.
Those few crucial moments are just what you need to be at peace.
And you don’t need a two week vacation to Cali to relax. It can be as simple as going for a drive or taking a short walk.
You need this time to recuperate and separate yourself from the world.

So go on, give yourself a minute or two. You deserve it.
And I promise it will make all of the difference.
